三月三日气象新, word-4

唐代大诗人杜甫写有“三月三日气象新，长安水边多丽人”这样的诗句。宋代欧阳修也在一首词中写道：“清明上巳西湖好，满目繁华。争道谁家。绿柳朱轮走钿车。游人日暮相将去，醒醉喧哗。”

"New " in Chinese character is an axe-"jing" plus another half. So is "斷".We can easily find many kind of knives related to "new': medical scissors for new born and so forth. The grandest couplet might be this "Sledge smashed the old world, sickle opened the new".

To distinguish new and its homonym, use a simplified way:

Therefore, novel is the best word for 小說.
