"Stay classy"

Meanings:

1. A popular phrase used to encourage maintaining a high standard of behavior, elegance, and respectability, to act with respect and dignity in all situations.

2. In fashion: timeless, elegant style rather than following trends

3. Also associated with a popular non-alcoholic IPA from Bellwoods Brewery.

4.  A tongue-in-cheek ironic remark given to a person or group who says or does something overly offensive or classless.  Sarcastic response to an action or remark perceived as trashy.

Origin:

- 2004 film "Anchorman" from Will Ferrell's sign-off: "Stay classy, San Diego". In the film, he meant it literally.

For those who like to read, languages are always fascinating. Especially polysemous phrases, like this one.

Even "birds of a feather flock together" can be interpreted two ways: "志同道合" or "一丘之貉" 嘻嘻

Although taste is a very personal thing, I'd rather stay classy and keep being an original 西岛 微笑.

Actually what triggered me choosing it today is its meaning #4, as a story told in this post (you can click the link to see):  https://bbs.wenxuecity.com/joke/1574763.html.

It went too far, not only insulting but also totally tasteless, not fit for a government agency, IMHO.

Stay true classy, please and thanks.
