APAD: Dip a toe in the water
"Dip a toe in the water" means to try something new or unfamiliar in a small, cautious way to see if you like it or if it's suitable, without fully committing, much like literally testing water's temperature before diving in. It implies a slow, careful start to a new experience, hobby, business, or venture, allowing for evaluation before a bigger involvement.
Example:
"I'm not sure about starting a new business, so I'm just going to dip a toe in the water by selling a few items online first".

Falling in love with the ocean at the first sight. But, for whatever reason, I have never taken the plunge to swim in it.
Living close to the ocean now, I love going there as much as I can, and dipping my toes in the water to feel it.
Please believe me, it doesn't matter what your worries are, at that moment, you will feel melting into the sea and at peace right away.
Just listen to the ocean waves I recorded a few days ago:
Ain't it powerful and peaceful at the same time?
Bonus, a few doggy pics I took with dear iPhone at the beach
1. Can you pet me?

2. Stay away from me!!

3. Where's the old man in the sea?
