APAD: A rose, by any other name would smell as sweet

"A rose, by any other name would smell as sweet" is a quote from Shakespeare play "Romeo and Juliet", which applies to the everyday life of all humans.  This quote suggests that a name is just a label to distinguish one thing from another.  Humans understand their world by categorizing similar things into groups and labeling them.  The name really has no worth nor does the label have any meaning.  The importance of a person or thing is the way it is; not because of what it is called.

There was a post in 笑坛 yesterday with a short vedio, shot in Romeo and Juliet's "hometown" (Italian city of Verona, per the legend), as attached below.

Under the post, one person commented about memory of his high school and good old hometown time, which triggered me thinking of this fitting quote from the same play.

I truly don't know how to translate the clever words of the Bard, but I know each and everyone of us all have nice (or not so nice ) memories of the past.  Be it Verona or Beijing, be it "Romeo & Juliet" or 西岛, we all are humans and are all of "a rose, by any other name would smell as sweet".
