Man Plans, and God Laughs.”  is a proverb supposedly from the old testament: “Mann Tracht, Un Gott Lacht” - an old Yiddish adage.

Meaning: Despite our most careful planning, the Road of Life is unpredictable. We might have driving and destination strategies but scenic new vistas might beckon us or unforeseen roadblocks can deter us.

Sounds like we should never let God see our plans ;-)  鬼脸

Joke aside, I think the best is to make a plan, but always be ready to change it in order to archieve the goal, as change is a constant in our lives, whether we like it or not.  Also don't be too hard on ourrselves.  By this, we may learn from some great men and women who lived before and amongst us.

Below is a well written and somewhat related paragraph by Lin Yutang (林语堂) about Shakespeare (with my reading = 瞎读哈 :-):

"Shakespeare was never very religious, or very much concerned with religion. I think this was his greatness; he took human life largely as it was, and intruded himself as little upon the general scheme of things as he did upon the characters of his plays. Shakespeare was like Nature herself, and that is the greatest compliment we can pay to a writer or thinker. He merely lived, observed life and went away."

Note: have been doing some heavy labor and time consuming work outdoors, so no extra post today.  But hopefully 灵美眉's "Poem Reading" will keep you all busy later.

Wish you all a Happy Tuesday!
