Laugh of this Sunday: The jokes on 西岛
The best jokes are the one's laughing at oneself. So here they come:
Joke No 1. When I started working and was thinking of buying my 1st house in Canada (or anywhere else for that matter), I tried to call a few realtors whom I found from some flyers. One particular realtor sounded very friendly, and offered to show me around. He said: "I can come to pick you up this Saturday, and I will come in a white mercedes”. I knew basically nothing about cars then (still not much now), so I replied quietly: "is that a car?" He stopped for a bit, then said" "yes, I will call you later". Of course he didn't call back, and there was no more later, hahaha
Joke No 2. When we lived in Ottawa (Ontario Canada), there was a nice big pond with lots of Canadian geese close to our home and we often walked there after supper. One spring evening when we saw multiple groups of newborn and very young baby geese there, I said: "Hey, there are so many goosters". I had absolutely no idea where the word "goosters" came from, and why I didn't say"goslings", it just showed up. Of course everyone had a good laugh at my expense that evening. But somehow we still use the term today as a nickname for the young couple who live one door from our left and who are our neighbour's daughter and her husband.
