【七律】岁末印象（一）

 

小城整日雾岚中，怎晓光阴缓或匆。

心愿不随新岁到，久寒还与旧年同。

琼花夜夜登穹顶，皓首天天映浩空。

慢走疾行皆胜处，何须诗里觅从容。

 

Impression, End of Year (Poem 1)

 

My small town is in

the fog all day long.

How do I know whether

time's light and shadow

is moving fast or slow?

 

The things I wished for

ain't going to come

with the new year.

The long cold, as usual,

is going to stay here.

 

Snowflakes visit the high dome,

descend on my roof,

even on my head,

night after night.

Day after day, the white head

reflects the vast sky.

 

No matter I walk slow or fast,

Nature always presents

the same beauty to me.

There's no need to dig

in poetry for calmness

if I just let it be.
