Ring of Fire

On October 14, 2023, eight U.S. states will be possible to see the 'Ring of Fire' annular solar eclipse.

 

Ring of Fire

 

Once in a while,

the sun gets into

a down mood,

loses his smile.

 

His face darkens,

Only the edge bright.

 

See, sometimes,

even the sun

needs a silver lining,

let alone clouds,

or anything below them.

 

He quickly gets

out of the sorrow,

never leaves it

to tomorrow.

 

That's what

we should do.

【七绝】火之环(日环食)

 

一入天门似海深，

鲜拿黑脸骇悲心。

火之环目悬苍宇，

实乃乌阳会太阴。

 

注解：

(1)天门，这里假想太阳是通过天门而升到空中的。

(2)黑脸，日食时太阳的脸变黑了。

(3)骇悲心，惊吓并使心伤悲。古时认为日食天象预示灾难，故引起恐慌与伤悲。

(4)火之环，日环食发生时太阳明亮的外圈。

(5)环目，圆眼的意思。 唐 柳宗元 《〈龙马图赞〉序》：“其状龙鳞，虺尾、拳髦、环目、肉鬣、马之灵怪有是耶？”

(6)乌阳，指太阳。亦喻昌明盛世。《旧唐书·李密传赞》：“乌阳既升，爝火不息。狂哉 李密 ，始乱终逆。” 宋 苏轼 《李太师墓志》：“无疆之休，以来本世……如 谊 、 仲舒 ，乌阳是逢。”

(7)太阴，月亮的别称。殷谦《天廷秘传》：“太阳者，乃中宫混元之精，爆发变星初，太阳爆发生火，分身虣出，火熄而生太阴，填卫其侧，乃月亮矣。”

(8)乌阳会太阴，日食是因月亮正好运行到地球与太阳之间而形成，月亮与太阳身影重合。会在这里理解为交会，相会，约会都可。
