A promise is a promise……
I always encounter something that touches me.
Last Monday, one medical student was supposed to do a presentation which he volunteered to do it earlier for our team, but he was unable to prepare the presentation when I asked him and I said to the team,“No worries as we have already learned some other topic today!”
Yesterday, he told me it was his last day for his rotation. I congrated to him and wished him smooth during his next rotation in emergency department which is the specialty he is going to apply for his residency.
Today, one resident texted me when I headed to cafeteria at lunch time,“M is here now to present the topic for us!” I was surprised as medical students are off on weekends. I grabbed
some chicken salad and went back to floor right away.
“You don't have to come here today!I am very touched, though. ” I talked to the medical student and passed one box of salad to him.
“ Yesterday, you didn't mention the presentation... ” He said.
“ Were you ready at that time?I didn't want to push you too much as I was not sure whether you were ready or not....and it was your last day of your rotation...”
......
After his wonderful presentation, M said,“I don't feel bad now...”
How wonderful the medical student is. A promise is a promise...
