theatre 的另一个含义

今天看到一段话：

The Chinese military has been put on high alert and will launch "targeted military operations" in response to U.S. House Speaker Pelosi's visit to Taiwan, China's defence ministry said on Tuesday night. Separately, the People's Liberation Army's Eastern Theatre Command said it will conduct joint military operations near Taiwan from Tuesday night.

看到Eastern Theatre，我第一反应这是外媒在揶揄中国，把“东部战区”说成“东部戏院”，然后就是查词典，发现theatre（或者 theater）除了我们熟悉的“剧场，电影院”这个含义外，还有一个含义是“战场、战区”。

台湾地区是“战区”还是“戏院”？恐怕在小人物眼里是战区，而在大人物眼里就是戏院。
