I didn't know that the Nile River valley looks like a lotus flower. :) I took a look in the map. It does! That's interesting.

Yes, I knew there is not much rainfall at all in that area. There is a severe water shortage. That affects farming and people's daily life. 

About "发端于人本身的缺陷的社会弊病": 

Yes, human beings are greedy and short-sighted. Most people want it all, but don't really understand how to keep this all susntainable in a long run. 

To me, greed is the root of all problems. :)  Poverty, corruption, pursing power, all these are caused by or driven by human greed.

Curb one's greed, so others may live too!

Live simply, so others may simply live! haha
