我不是自我,不是

你独特经历的总和,

恰好,公平地,

不论谁说的,

一个汽车旅馆的房间,

是你的,直到--

也就是,句子结束。

其实语言,

并不认为我重要,

即使

夸大其词 ---

比如我来

我看见我征服---

强调的是其它音节。

哦,它是个技术问题,

无疑,对

离得如此之远的

伏,哭,吾押韵

比补好

天空臭氧层漏洞

还难。

但最可怕的是吃力的坚持 ---

我、我、我---

某人气喘吁吁爬坡。

脸红得像停车标志牌,

害怕医生或某个

在镜子里显得惊讶的

他她它。

I is not ego, not the sum

of your unique experiences,

just, democratically,

whoever’s talking,

a kind of motel room,

yours till the end—

that is, of the sentence.

The language, actually,

doesn’t think I’s important,

stressing, even in

grandiose utterances—

e.g., I came

I saw I conquered—

the other syllables.

Oh, it’s a technical problem,

sure, the rhyme

on so-so-open

lie, cry, I

harder to stitch tight

than the ozone

hole in the sky.

But worst is its plodding insistence—

I, I, I—

somebody huffing uphill,

face red as a stop sign,

scared by a doctor

or some He She It

surprised in the mirror.
