There is secret Chinese -English connection of these two words.

My second book "Words by Tones" revealed the tone secret,  but  2-4 catagories are generalized and  in limited depth, for more finer analysis, my third book is "Words by V. Formular", which explains  intelligent  vs. wise partially by visual symbol, while the tones are more abstractive.

 Notise that 睿智  for wisdom is missing in some dictionaries.
