Should we call it a conservative driver, or a defensive driver?

I have fond memories of those lovely waddling south Florida ducklings too. March through early April, and October are the best times to play with them along the lakeside. I used to enjoy touching their new smooth feathures a lot. I never saw a dead one, and never noticed that their survival rate is that low.
