I thought about it while writing. I thought about putting "my hu*****and's sole salary", but it felt a little weird.

alone, if put at the under of the sentence, is a little bit ambiguous. Since alone is an adverb here, it could mean "live alone", maybe? So I have changed the sentence to "live only on my hu*****and's salary". What do you think?
