has been put on too much emphasis by the writers.

If the writer wants to pursuit pure spiritual pleasure, that's purely a personal thing. He already wrote a book, so I don't see how spriritually deprived he could be.

Anyway, I think it is very easy to pursue spiritual stuff. Like right now, we talk/write here on the forum on Internet, to me, it's spiritual. Watching a good movie, having a meaningful talk with friends, reading a good book, reading aloud English 900, they are all spiritual to me. In general, I don't see the big fuss about complaining about spiritually deprived materialism too much. If someone so desires to live a purely material life, that could also be spriritual in a sense that he/she enjoys the happiness bought by the materials at the spiritual level.

Now I am talking rubbish. 哈哈

Of course, if we are talking about a whole nation, if no one in a nation cares about sprititual stuff, I can see that would be dangerous, because it might affect morals and so on. I am purely talking at personal level.
