my attempts so far

Beatrice jumped/dashed to the window. The bus had just screeched/labored/hobbled to a stop. She snatched her lunch, grabbed her coat, and darted/charged/zipped out the door. Just as she swirled/slung/circled around the corner, the bus sped away

We walked (froliced/strolled/wandered) through the rain.
The elephants walked (bulldozed) through the forest.
The children walked (kicked?/blazed? their way) through the leaves
