菜鸟的菜来了

liuliu has strong self-esteem

When we took a walk after dinner last night, I asked liuliu why she hit her friend on face in her daycare. She tried to avoid my question and redirected my attention to other things. Obviously, she did not want to touch that topic. I asked her again and she confessed that she was unhappy at that moment.

 

After we got home, she had an accident and asked me to change her wet pants. Grandpa humiliated liuliiu using his fingers to scrape his face, the traditional Chinese way of teasing. Liuliu was irritated immediately and asked yeye to go away. She refused to talk with Yeye again.

 

Her daddy came back from Baltimore after a business trip late last night. I simply mentioned what happened in the past few days to her dad when we had breadfirst together this morning. Liuliu played same trick by asking her dad some other questions to draw away his attention when she was asked not to hit other kids but use words to express her anger by her dad. Apparently, she tried to disguise her nervousness and upsetting, meaning that she knew what she did yesterday was wrong.

 

Clearly, Liuliu has strong self-esteem. It could be a very good thing if she is treated in proper ways. As her mom, I need to be very careful when talk to her, not to hurt her while convey my concerns. It is not easy for both of us.
