It has been proved by experiments that children are able to learn swimming at very early age. In a special swimming pool in Los Angles, infants have been able to hold breath under water before they can walk. The two-month infants show no sign of being unwilling in water. They adapt to swimming so quickly that they can pick up objects on the bottom of the pool. Their favorite sport is a tricycle race in water. Tricycles are set side by side on the bottom of swimming pool of seven feet deep. The one who first reaches the other end of the pool wins. Many kids pedal the tricycles whereas more prefer pushing or pulling the devices. Some of them have been able to cover the whole distance without lift their head out of the water for breathing. Only may time answer if they become an Olympic champion in future. They should be very encouraging for some of us who become out of breath in trying to swim the first five yards.
