Buy biggest house u can afford

We are currently looking for a house. People are telling us we should buy the
biggest house we can afford. We used some web calculator and it seems we can
afford between 530K-630K house. That's way too high than our target price
of under 450K.

Are we too conservative? Should we push to our limit?

PS. we live in east coast.
