I think going back without green card is too risky now days. I have two friends(two seperate family) are stucking in China right now. It's about half years they've been waiting and have no idea when it will be the end. Family reunion is very important, especially for parents. My parents and in-laws visted us for several times while our green card was processed. Each time, they stayed one or half years, we really enjoy the time with our parents. After we got green card, we went back China every year and want to continue to do it in the future. Though it costs a lot ,it's really great to have such trip. But, if you don't have green card, you'd better to invite your parents here. It's not money issue, it's about risk for losing your position in US.
