Well said. The prices vary a lot. In my opinion, the condo prices are not very expensive (except several extreme expensive ones). For example, in the center of downtown, most of the 2-br condo (around 1200 sq ft) ask for 300K-500K. Along lake Michigan, further north or south from downtown, the prices can reduce to even below 200K for a 2-br condo with lakeview. But the other expenses are high. For example, the monthly association fee for a 2-br condo can be over a thousand dollars, which does not even include parking. This means that you still need to pay a lot even after paying off the loan.
