In China people are paying a lot of attention to this type

of "facing" situation. I never pay any attention to it. After reading your post I was thinking of my previous houses, and indeed the one we had in another city was facing west (not exactly, but sort of southeast with more west, less south), we didn't feel anything bad about it after living in it for 5 years.
