"weakly ask", could I plant 莴笋 now directly in vege

"weakly ask" :), could I plant 莴笋 now directly in vegetable bed, or I have to let 莴笋 sprout first, then transfer it to vegetable bed. BTW, I am in AZ (desert), zone 8. Now daytime tempature is around 80F. too hot to plant 莴笋?
