Of course we are seeing the price going up for the investment properties my wife bought since 2009.

But the house we lived for 2 and half years (from 2005 to 2007) is still below the price when we bought it.  My wife rented it out for almost 8 years until last summer when the tenant moved out. We lost quite a lot because the rent was much lower than the expenses.
