He has a good insurance. After you purchase the medicare insurance, he buy another cheap option from the school system. Just medicare is not the that good, it cover good bit, but not that great. The 2 policy together is very ideal.

Most large company has those option for retired employee, but with the way tech company is right now. I do not know if I will be able to retire from a company. I have been working at a large company for more than 10 years, to retire from this company I need a total of 30 year service, that's really hard.

In my dad's case, he only had to work for that school for 10 years. This was long time ago, I think the requirement right now for university is 20 years.
