1. you can get a plumber to estimate the cost before you contact with the insurance company.
2. depending on the estimated cost and see if the deductible is more than the cost or not. you might not claim it if it is less than the deductible
3. you can do it by yourself. Take off the flooded shirock, figure out where it is leaking, seal the leaking place with the appropriate caulk which you can find out in homedepot depending on the pipe material. replace the shirock. I had the same problem and the plumber asked for $500 not including the cost to replace the drywall. I did it for $20. Haha. it is cheaper and fun to do it by myself.
