my father had the same problem

for 2~3 years when I came to USA 9 years ago, but my sister always stay with him at that time, after he visited us and back to china, he is OK now. Maybe your father just not 放心你们 like my father did, after he saw you are OK at outside, then he'll be OK. Just my thought and case.
