Could you please share some of your thoughts on what the best that we can do in the following situation? Than k you very much in advance!

We have placed our second home on market for a while and have not sold it yet. Our insurance company (state farm) is going to drop our insurance on this home this august. Both of our homes are located in the same city. We took away almost all the furniture when we moved to the new house except for a recliner and kitchen appliances. We make visits almost every day: eating lunches and take a nap before heading back to work. We currently have water and electricity connected and a service maintaining the yard.

Do you think any one of the following options will work better for us?

Option 1. Do you think that we have a better chance of resuming the current insurance policy if we stage the 2nd home with basic furniture and stay there 1-2 per week, while appealing with all the facts above?

Option 2. Should we consider renting it out before getting it sold and then change our policy to landlord policy? If so, should we rent it through the local rental company or by our own?

Option 3. Should we do nothing else but update our policy to vacant home insurance policy? We currently live in Georgia. To your acknowledgement, will this vacant home insurance policy be good enough to protect our property?

We are sorry for such a long posting. We desperately need some of your inputs. Thanks again.
