It doesn't prove temp sensor is bad
It just proves that high temperture reading is causing engine shutdown. If the engine is actually overheating and you unplug the sensor, the engine will not shutdown but will be seriously damaged. From my experience, temperture sensor rarely goes bad! Check your coolant level and have the cooling system pressure tested for leaks. Don't drive with sensor unplugged or you will need a new engine. In this sense, AI will kill your engine, not mechanic's job.
