A July 2025 study by NeoMam Studios focused specifically on cameras controlled by or accessible to city governments, excluding privately owned devices. Their findings determined the highest density of cameras per 1,000 people among major global cities:
- 1. Washington, D.C., United States: 44 cameras per 1,000 residents.
- 2. Stockholm, Sweden: 22.4 cameras per 1,000 residents.
- 3. Daegu, South Korea: 20.3 cameras per 1,000 residents.
