iPhone 14 Pro Overheating

  •

  •

  • iOS Bugs

    • iOS 17.0 initially had a known issue causing excessive background activity, leading to overheating. Apple fixed this in iOS 17.0.3.

  • Background App Activity

    • Heavy apps like Instagram, Uber, or games running in the background can cause CPU/GPU stress.

  • Charging + Heavy Usage

    • Using the device while charging (especially gaming or 4K recording) generates heat.

  • Environmental Factors

    • High ambient temperatures or direct sunlight can cause thermal throttling and overheating warnings.

  • Hardware or Case Issues

    • Thick or non-ventilated cases can trap heat. A failing battery or logic board could also be a root cause.

  • Update iOS

    • Go to Settings → General → Software Update and install the latest version.

  • Close Background Apps

    • Swipe up and clear unused apps.

  • Disable Background Refresh

    • Settings → General → Background App Refresh → Off (or Wi-Fi only).

  • Reduce Load During Charging

    • Avoid gaming or 4K video editing while charging.

  • Check Case

    • Remove thick or non-Apple-certified cases when charging or gaming.

  • Reset Settings (if persistent)

    • Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset All Settings (doesn’t erase data).
