If you find a fawn in your yard, it's best to leave it alone, even if it seems vulnerable or motionless. The mother is likely nearby, and keeping people and dogs away helps the fawn avoid predators. Fawns are often left alone for long periods of time, and their white-spotted coats help them camouflage in vegetation. If you approach a fawn, it usually won't try to run away.

 

You should only call a wildlife rehabber or your state's wildlife agency if the fawn is: Walking around, Crying constantly, Showing signs of dehydration, and Sick or injured
