Hong Jun Lao Si died in my village around 1960
Hong Jun Lao Si was a red army soldier who died in my village around 1960. I never met him since I was born after his death. From the description of my mom, I can roughly tell who he was.
Around 1935, read army passed through my hometown. Hong Jun Lao Si was left behind but he should be not a deseter (anyhow, I have no interest about the real reason why he was left behind).
Since he was not local, he had neither a place to live nor a land to grow crops. But our local folks were not bad to him. He was able to build a little shelter (not a cabin) by tree branches in an open place.
Amazingly, he manged to survive until about 1960, and he died in the famine of THREE YEAR NATURAL DISASTERS.
My village is located in big mountians. It is very easy to find fruits, tree roots, and other stuff to survive. But Hong Jun Lao Si died.
From the description of my mom, I can see that no one hated him and no one particularly loved him either in my village. He was just an ordinary Chinese. He did survive from 1935 to 1949 and no one treated him badly in that period of time and no one particularly took care of him since he was a young man.
