China’s population accounts for less than 20% of the world, but China has produced over 40% goods and become the largest physical economy in the world for years. Although the USA is the largest economy in terms of GDP, over 80% of its GDP is contributed by so-called virtual economy, i.e. services, that do not produce any goods upon which people depend in daily life.
