Food production is not what you think. If China imports 10% of all food it consume, it does not mean that Chinese will starve in case of embargo. The same piece of land can be used to grow different kinds of food or nothing at all. For example, an acre of land can produce 1500 kilo of wheat or 3000 kilo of yam each year. Or it can be used to grow grass to feed cows for their meat. So the same land can feed different number of people. It is wise to import food if it is cheaper to buy than to grow. Another example is meat. If it is cheaper to buy American beef than raise cattle in China, we should buy.
Eventually, we want to live with all kinds of people peacefully. It is silly to believe that people from all other countries try to destroy China.
Currently, Chinese workers take American jobs because the Chinese are paid less than 1/5 of the salary without proper health care and retirement. That is the price Chinese pay to be competitive. Is it so wrong if American do not like it? Is it so wrong if American think it is unfair? Why can't Chinese be treated similarly as American?
