Wrong assumption.  Even though China was conquered by Mongolia and Manchulia in the history, China would never surrender to Japan.  Without helps from outsiders, the anti-Jap war could last a little longer but China would win eventually.  Look at the last few years of Anti-Jap war, China was doing OK.  Taking China away, the so-called great east Asian ring has not much left.
