Historical Statistics of the World Economy:1-2008 AD 是当今世界上最权威的世界经济数据史料。可在网上查到。建国初级，当务之急是建立政权，巩固国防。经济建设的重点是基础工业和军事工业，工资水平增加不多，工作人员增加很多。GDP增加较快。人均GDP也从世界140个有统计的国家中排名129位（1950）进到111位（1978），前进了18位。
