钱塘湖春行
白居易
孤山寺(2)北贾亭(3)西，水面初平(4)云脚(5)低。
几处早莺争暖树(6)，谁家新燕(7)啄春泥。
乱花渐欲(8)迷人眼，浅草才能(9)没马蹄。
最爱湖东行不足(10)，绿杨阴里白沙堤(11)。
1. 钱塘湖：即西湖，今杭州市西，古来即为游览胜地。
2. 孤山寺：在西湖的里湖外湖之间的孤山上，南朝陈文帝天嘉年间（560—565）所建。
3. 贾亭：又叫贾公亭，由前杭州刺史贾全于唐德宗贞元年间（785—805）建于钱塘湖畔，人称“贾亭”或“贾公亭”。
4. 水面初平：湖水刚刚同堤岸齐平，即春水初涨。
5. 云脚，接近地面的云，多见于将雨或雨初停时。
6. 暖树，向阳的树木。
7. 新燕：刚从南方飞回来的燕子。
8. 欲：将要，就要。
9. 才能：刚够上。
10.行不足：游不够，不愿离开的意思。“不足”此处意为不满足。
11.白沙堤：即今白堤，又称沙堤、断桥堤，它连接西湖北岸和孤山，唐朝以前已有。

On Qiantang Lake in spring
West of Jia Pavilion and north of Lonely Hill.
Water brims level with the bank and clouds hang low.
Disputing for sunny trees, early orioles trill.
Pecking vernal mud in, young swallows come and go.
A riot of blooms begins to dazzle the eye.
Amid short grass the horse hoofs can barely be seen.
I love best the east of the lake under the sky.
The bank paved with white sand is shaded by willows green.
