世界古老的军乐团：The Band of The Coldstream Guards

平日听到的军乐多是鼓舞斗志士气的， 这里军乐团演奏却可以是这么舒缓带些伤感的音乐， 换个国家不知会不会治罪。 英国作曲家埃尔加 的谜语变奏曲听过很多， 以前听的多是非军乐团演奏，而这里听到的，却是由一个世界古老的军乐团演奏的，这个军乐团见证了英伦300多年的改朝换代，海外扩展， 流血牺牲， 也抚慰了多少孤寂士兵的心。

伤感的谜语变奏曲由军乐团演奏，觉得好特别， 就像变奏的谜语， 变奏的忧伤顿时也变得那么庄严，生命是那么神圣，人类的生存多与战争相伴， 士兵的天职是服从命令， 当士兵为国捐躯时， 他可能都来不及/ 无法伤感， 也来不及/无法与亲人道别， 就这么一去不归， 像狼牙山五壮士，上甘岭的志愿军，二战诺曼底登陆时倒下的盟军士兵，伤感的却是活着的人 ， 因为活着的人更加倍地感受人生的迷语和生命的珍贵，特别是悼念阵亡的将士时... 《God Save King》，那士兵呢？

The Band of The Coldstream Guards 军乐团2009年出的CD Hero竟还有一曲：The Great escape 大逃亡。 夏季白金汉宫前卫队换岗时他们还演奏很多通俗音乐，麦克杰克逊的《Thrill》， 电影加勒比海海盗里的音乐， 让游人大开眼界。

The Band Of The Grenadier Guards是一个世界一流的军事乐队和有一个长期和杰出的历史可追溯长达300年的时间。乐队总部设在伦敦，在那里设立其强度为49音乐家能够提供音乐支持英国军队主要是通过参与国家和礼仪场合. （google）

Her Majesty's Coldstream Regiment of Foot Guards, also known officially as the Coldstream Guards (COLDM GDS), is a regiment of the British Army, part of the Guards Division or Household Division.

It is the oldest regiment in the Regular Army in continuous active service, originating in Coldstream, Scotland in 1650 when General George Monck founded the regiment. It is one of two regiments of the Household Division that can trace its lineage to the New Model Army, the other being the Blues and Royals (Royal Horse Guards and 1st Dragoons).
