　　排箫又叫排笛、潘笛，是西洋乐器中最有魅力的乐器之一。有这样一个美丽的希腊传说：有一个叫“潘”的牧羊神，喜欢睡午觉，并十分厌恶嘈杂扰人的声响，一旦被惊醒，往往茫然无措。据说希腊语的“害怕”一词就从他的名字里演变而来。有一次，潘和下山来的宁芙仙子偶然相遇，潘对美丽的仙子一见钟情，可宁芙仙子被他粗野的长相吓得拔腿就跑，两个人你追我逃地来到了河堤边，仙子向河神求救。潘以为自己终于抓住了仙子的胳膊，岂知手上握住的却是河边的芦苇，宁芙仙子早消失了踪影。潘一阵茫然之后回过神来割下数根芦苇，把他们绑在一起做成了笛子虔心吹奏，这就是潘笛。

　　因为有了这样动人的传说，倾听排笛，就有了深情甚至缠绵的心境和情调。排笛音域宽广，音区变化大，音色丰富。排笛的音色不似筝的饱满，也不比笛子的嘹亮，更不同于小提琴的缠绵，排笛的声音圆润、空灵、绵长，细品还有一点隐隐的忧伤，尤其拖音，音色均匀，连绵不断，却又给人丝丝缕缕的感觉，有一种扯不断的悠扬与通透。它一直在诉说着，将你送到很远很远，却又总是让人看不透，缥缥缈缈，有种欲言又止、欲诉还休的神秘与吸引，这样的音质，适合表现空灵的意境，纷飞的思绪，缥缈的梦境，醇厚的深情。
