【内容介绍】
本片是迪士尼旗下正金石电影公司与科幻大导演 Tim Burton 工作室在1993年所合作推出的一部惊悚喜剧，，叙述由 Jack 所率领的万圣节之鬼这回侵犯到圣诞节，他们绑架了圣诞老人，然后想自己再“製造”一个不一样的圣诞节。本片全由陶土模型拍摄而成，为了配合剧中人物各种动作、表情，工作人员製作了各式各样模型，光是主角 Jack 就有400多个模型头！本片拍摄採一个画面一个画面定态拍摄，连续播放宛如活动般，因此也被称为“动画”的一种。但是这种动画拍摄非常耗时，往往五秒鐘的画面要花去三个工作天才能完成，因此【圣诞夜惊魂】纯熟的技巧、流畅的剧情更属个中佳作！由於本片有点黑色惊悚的味道，由其片中还有圣诞礼物吓坏孩童的情节，与迪士尼电影形象比较起来有点另类，故本片是交由迪士尼旗下子公司正金石来发行，而不是以迪士尼本身名义。 后来在2006年的年底，本片又推出在专门设备戏院上映的3D版立体电影，这一回的3D版就是直接挂名在迪士尼的名义下发行。

【製作编导】
本片是由 Tim Burton 、Denise Di Novi 、Kathleen Gavin 担任製片，Danny Elfman 、Jill Jacobs 、Diane Minter Lewis 、Philip Lofaro 担任副制作人，全片由 Henry Selick 执导，而由 Caroline Thompson 根据 Tim Burton 的构想编写剧本。

【配音演员】
Danny Elfman 不但为本片配乐、作词、作曲，并且还担任主角 Jack 的幕后配唱。而且他还同时帮“臭鸡蛋”Barrel（三个小鬼头之一）配唱又配音！

【相关发行】
本片的影音产品和电影原声带均早已在美国发行，2006上映3D版时，迪士尼同时还推出双碟特别版原声带CD。本片的DVD其实早在1999年就已发行，并在2000年10月还发行特别版DVD。
