Empyrium is translated as "the burning heaven" or plainly "heaven" literally. Its roots are in ancient Greece. The Stoics, a Greek school of philosophers, proclaimed that beyond the horizon that is visible to us, there was Empyrium, and thus the stars are just holes in the firmament.
回复:Empyrium是啥意思?英汉字典上没查到(俺的字典薄了一点儿)。
