First, than Nes for providing this to us, it is one of the most beautiful work by Beethoven.
In my opinion, No. 6 is not an 'impressionist', it is romantic, i.e. this is not the Vienna suburb he 'sees' but he 'feels' or 'dreams'.
That may explain why Karajan's rendition is a little faster. The 1962 edition is more acceptable to me.
