专辑介绍：

意大利从来不缺少旖旎的风光，华彩的时装，更不缺少凄美忧伤的电影和传世经典的音乐。
这张DECCA出品的唱片收录的14首乐歌是意大利电影史上最为经典的作品的电影音乐（歌曲）。有“电影音乐教父”之称的Nino Rota(1911 - 1979)所作的《罗密欧与朱丽叶》和《教父》；有“超级快枪手”之称的Ennio Morricone(1928 - )所作的《教会》和《天堂影院》；有Luis Bacalov所作的《邮差》……

This collection of re-interpretations of some of the best themes from the Italian cinema is a pet project of renowned flautist Andrea Griminelli. He has involved some of his very famous friends in some classic tracks beautifully arranged and conducted by Luis Bacalov. Each of the cues is touched by the magic Griminelli flute, which creates a wonderfully delicate dimension for the other artists to contrast and complement. The opening cue, 'My Heart And I' is from La Piovra and is sung by Sting in his usual whisper voice with the flute acting as a perfect backdrop to his dulcet tones. In contrast, Nino Rota's famous 'Al Giochi Addio' from Romeo and Juliet is given the Luciano Pavarotti treatment in the second cue, with the delicate flute contrasting with the powerful Pavarotti voice to give a tearful rendition. Deborah Harry changes the mood with another Nino Rota composition, a light-hearted song with a jazz influence, 'You'll Come To Me' from Armacord. She also sings an emotional 'When Love Comes By' from Il Postino. Elysum sing a beautiful, elegant arrangement of Nicola Piovani's La Vite Ë Bella while Luis Bacalov plays a powerful and dramatic piano version of Nino Rota's Godfather with the flute echoing the well-known theme. Lucio Dalla sings a moving and emotional 'Malafemmina'. The flautist also teams up with Cassell Webb to give and unforgettable, exotic version of Mediterraneo and Filippa Giordano sings the sad theme from Fratello Sole, Sorella Luna. Andrea Griminelli is the main solo artist on a few of the tracks, including some by Ennio Morricone, which include a superb, stirring arrangement of the main theme from The Good, The Bad And The Ugly, a haunting interpretation of Cinema Paradiso and the poignant 'Gabriel's Oboe' from The Mission. The selection ends with 'Concerto For Orchestra' (Anonimo Veneziano) and an orchestral suite of themes from Fellini classics like La Strada, Armachord and Prova L'Orchestra.
It would be difficult not to admire Andrea Grimnelli's for having such a wealth of friends and persuading them into their magnificent performances on this collection. It is also staggering how many well known Italian scores rely heavily upon the flute to project their main theme. This is an admirable collection performed with great depth and feeling by all involved, with some marvellous and memorable arrangements of some great Italian classic themes.
