skin friction is only a component of drag.

There are more than fluid friction in aerodynamics, there are form drag, skin friction, interference drag, induced drag, wave drag. There is a reason people in this field call it drag. If you really want to learn something, you need to know that there are plenty of things you don't know. Simple high school physics is not enough to send anything to space.
