Rainy Days In Cancun

Our much anticipated trip to Cancun is only a few days away. As I began to think about packing, I checked the forecast for area. Bomber! Rain in the forecast every single day, starting a few days ago, ongoing now, and will be till the very end of our trip!

On average, Cancun has 8 rainy days in December, but this rainy spell looks at least twice as long. Has anyone run into rainy days in Cancun, especially in December? If so, what's it like? Does it shower and then clear up, or does it keeps pouring, making the hotel room the only refuge?
