The Golded Crabs are usually sold live, being put on layer of crushed ice, (unlike the Dungeness in the water tank). They seem to be in a state of dormancy but they move swiftly when touched.
Their colors range from very pale "whitish" with yellow tint, to darker color with reddish tint - usually have some irregular small black marks on their backs and on their legs. The lighter color ones have more fragile shell - thus easier to crack. :)
The Golded Crabs can be as big as 2 to 3 lbs - they are extremely tasty - superior to Dungeness and Blue Crab.
