The best white sand beaches in FL are all on the Panhandle, and Gulf Coast (dubbed Platinum Coast).
Siesta Key near Sarasota, and Longboat Key right at Sarasota, are also very very impressive beaches. Longboat Key may be too upscale for most of us... :)
But I prefer the water at the Atlantic Coast more - it is blue here instead of green there.
