Unless I misunderstood you, how can you say 整邓小平 是往死里整了? Mao purged Deng by removing him from office but still maintained his Party membership. Mao actually protected Deng from physical torment and public ridicule during the CR and even after 4/5 incident. What Mao did to Deng is just like what Deng did to Zhao Zhiyang.
